How effective is your toothpaste

Not every toothpaste that tastes fresh actually does anything.
An effective toothpaste doesn't have to be complicated, but it does need to do the right things: protect, clean, restore, and keep fresh.

In this video, the dentist explains the minimum requirements for a good toothpaste and why more ingredients don't automatically mean better.

What should a toothpaste really do?

A toothpaste has four core tasks. Everything else is secondary.

  1. Protecting the enamel
Fluoride helps strengthen enamel and protects against cavities.
Hydroxyapatite, a natural mineral, can help repair micro-damage in the enamel.
  2. Cleaning
Gentle abrasion is necessary to remove plaque and stains. Not so abrasive as to damage the enamel, but just enough to clean.
  3. Keeping fresh
Natural flavors provide that clean, fresh mouthfeel. Not to mask, but to support the result of good brushing.
  4. Being tolerable daily
A toothpaste must be suitable for use two to three times a day, without irritating or overworking the mouth and gums. Pay attention to ingredients like SLS, which you'd rather avoid.

More ingredients ≠ better function

Many toothpastes contain long ingredient lists with additives that primarily serve for foam, color, texture, or marketing. They add little to effectiveness and can actually cause sensitivity.

An effective toothpaste doesn't have to be complex. It just needs to be right.

Why ReBloom Care keeps it consciously simple

ReBloom Care toothpaste contains only 12 ingredients.
Not because it sounds minimalistic, but because more is simply not necessary.

What's in it:

  • fluoride or hydroxyapatite for enamel protection
  • mild cleaning agents
  • natural flavors for long-lasting freshness

What's not in it:

  • unnecessary fillers
  • aggressive foaming agents
  • ingredients that contribute nothing to oral health

The result? A toothpaste that does what it needs to do — and doesn't make a fuss about anything else.
